Our client is a cereal manufacturer who has been established for over 100 years and are currently looking for an NPD technologist to join their prestigious company. If you have experience in a similar role and have excellent people management skills then this could be the role for you...
THE ROLE
* To ensure that all new product developments and existing product developments are effectively managed from initial concept to launch
* Ensure that product safety and quality are maintained and enhanced so that all new launches and existing product developments are successful
* Developing new product concepts and then testing and proving of such concepts in the Development Laboratory
* Concepts to be fully costed and shown to be viable financially
* Presentation of the new concepts to the NPD Forum to gain approval to progress to plant trials
* Management of plant trials to ensure the product concept is viable from a manufacturing viewpoint
* To attend relevant exhibitions to monitor NPD activity and to assess new opportunities regarding innovation in ingredient and packaging manufacture
* Ensuring that packaging declarations and calculation of nutritional data are legal and accurate
* Based in Berwick-upon-Tweed
THE PERSON
* The ideal candidate will have significant experience of NPD and have a good working knowledge of labelling and nutrition
* Will also be able to demonstrate influencing/negotiating skills
* Must have good people management skills
* Able to conduct presentations/training courses to an internal and external audience
* Must have an understanding of BRC certification, Organic certification and Kosher certification
* Must have good communication skills and have a working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
THE PACKAGE
* Up to £35,000 basic depending on exp.
