    Our client is looking to appoint a Customer Engineering to be responsible for delivering new engine installations across a wide range of different vehicles and market places.

    The group ensures each installation is fully validated to enable the equipment to meet both the OEM's and targets for cost, quality and performance established in the products technical profiles. This is achieved through the use and development of engineering standards and knowledge based systems.

    A vacancy currently exists in the OEM Customer Engineering department for an Engineer with a distinct interest in engine/application interface.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Technical lead Emphasis on developing customer specifications, at the lowest cost, to meet the OEMs equipment development programme needs.

    Champion the IQA audit process to ensure all installations comply with the quality requirements defined by the specific market.

    Support the improvement plans to reduce OEM defects as a result of specification accuracy.

    Support the de-proliferation of options within the Central area and maintain the limited choice on GCE.

    Support the PQC activity to report issues with the compliance of IQAs and their potential impacts on plant warranty.

    Lead discussions with OEMs/Suppliers with regards to installation issues pertaining to plant quality, installation defects, and base engine design limitations.

    Essential Skills:

    Minimum BEng in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or equivalent.

    Proven experience/knowledge of engine integration in automotive and industrial equipment including powertrains and associated sub-systems.

    Project management experience covering multiple projects with cross-functional/multi-site involvement.

    Experience in leading design reviews with specific focus on achieving customer deliverables would be beneficial.

    Product definition and configuration management experience desirable.

    Good presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written, is essential.

    Six Sigma knowledge/experience would be an advantage.
