| Our client is looking to appoint a lead engineer to join and lead their team in the North East. A vacancy currently exists for a Lead Engineer in the Design department, where the successful candidate will be responsible for design and development of components and subsystems working within Engineering Standard Work procedures. Key Responsibilities: Use ProEngineer, ProMechanica, etc as an engineering tool in the layout, modeling, and analysis of engines, engine sub-systems, engine components and assemblies. Perform form, fit and function studies to insure quality designs that meet all design requirements and space constraints. Perform static and kinematic design calculations as appropriate. Prepare technical data and complete documentation of work. Make supplier, OEM, and end-user customer visits as appropriate to support design activities. Work closely with manufacturing and suppliers to achieve producible, quality designs at the lowest possible cost. Write engineering releases that adhere to product definition standards and guidelines. Work results in the development of new or refined product, materials, processes, and projects. Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others. Essential Skills: Degree qualified - B(Eng) minimum, MSC preferred, in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering. Specialist proficiency in Pro/E & Mechanica. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5M-1994. Excellent presentation skills as well as written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lead and participant in cross-functional technical groups/teams. Experience in the use of Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) and Design for Manufacture. Works with a measure of autonomy. High level of initiative and inovation. |
