| Associate Engineer - Product Engineering £27,956 plus bonus My client is looking for an experienced Associate Engineer - Product Engineering to be based in Darlington. Reporting directly to the Product Engineering Manager, the focus of these positions will be on ensuring that all Product Engineering requirements are fully met during the Manufacturing of all my clients diesel engine model builds through the Darlington manufacturing facility, sister plant and joint ventures. Key Responsibilities: Ensure that all builds comply with the engineering standards and are manufactured in line with the appropriate engine build standards (NEBS). Ensure that Engineering issues encountered during build are fully analysed and tested utilising the appropriate problem solving tools and techniques, with all resolutions being documented through technical reports and released through the plant and corporate Engineering release system. As part of a cross functional, multi disciplined team, provide shift support on day to day Product Engineering issues driven out of the plant problem response process. Write engineering releases that adhere to product definition standards and guidelines. Make supplier and OEM visits as appropriate to support design and validation activities. Participate and lead team project activities such as form, fit and function analysis, cost reduction, cross functional design reviews, m-reviews, HAS analysis, risk assessment, FMEA's, RPS, six sigma, process capability and functional excellence projects. Support and lead plant containment issues. document and communicate all shift activity to peers. Drive shift project activity based on Plant and MTO measures. Lead projects to support key MTO & Plant goal tree activities. Essential Skills: Must be qualified to minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. Proven experience of diesel engine assembly/building processes. Design and drafting experience including geometrical tolerance would be beneficial. Must be able to interpret engineering drawings, standards and build instructions. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be flexible with regards to work responsibilities and schedules. Self motivated, team player requiring minimal supervision. Proven experience of problem solving and trouble shooting techniques and skills. PC literate i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Project etc. Must be able to apply academic theory to practical solutions. Be prepared to undertake training in new skills and advance current academic qualifications. The salary is £27,956 pa plus bonus |
